This Privacy Policy explains how PalGolf (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the PalGolf mobile app.

Summary

• No account required. PalGolf does not require you to create an account.
• Local storage. Your rounds, players, and course edits are saved on your device.
• Course search. If you use the course search/import feature, the app will send your search term to our proxy service (hosted on Cloudflare) which forwards the request to GolfCourseAPI.
• No selling of personal data. We do not sell your personal information.

Information We Collect

Information you enter in the app

PalGolf lets you enter information such as player names, handicaps, golf course details, and hole-by-hole scores (“App Data”). This App Data is stored locally on your device (for example, in a file named GolfScorerData.json).

Course search/import requests

When you use the course search/import feature, PalGolf sends your search query (and the course ID you select) to our proxy endpoint hosted on Cloudflare (“Proxy Service”). The Proxy Service then requests course data from GolfCourseAPI and returns results to the app.

The search query you type may include golf course or club names and other text you enter. You should avoid entering sensitive personal information in the search field.

Diagnostics and logs

Our Proxy Service is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare and our Proxy Service may process limited technical information to deliver and secure the service, such as:

• IP address and approximate location (derived from IP)
• Request metadata (time, requested URL path, user agent)
• Security signals (for abuse prevention, rate limiting)

We do not intentionally include your scores or player data in these requests. App Data remains on your device unless you choose to share it yourself.

How We Use Information

• To provide core app functionality (scoring, scorecards, player and course management).
• To fetch and display course data when you choose to search/import courses.
• To secure and maintain the Proxy Service (e.g., caching and rate limiting to prevent abuse).

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to operate the course search/import feature:

• Cloudflare (Proxy hosting): Requests you make for course search/import pass through Cloudflare, which may process technical data as described above.
• GolfCourseAPI (Course data provider): Our Proxy Service forwards your course search query and course ID requests to GolfCourseAPI to retrieve course information. GolfCourseAPI’s handling of information is governed by their own policies/terms.

Data Storage and Retention

• On-device App Data: Stored on your device until you delete the app or remove data (if available on your device).
• Proxy logs/caching: The Proxy Service may cache course responses and may temporarily retain technical logs for security and performance. Retention periods can vary based on Cloudflare settings and security needs.

Your Choices

• You can use PalGolf without using course search/import by creating courses manually.
• You can delete the app to remove locally stored App Data from your device.
• If you do not want network requests related to course search/import, do not use the search/import feature.

Children’s Privacy

PalGolf is not intended for children under 13 (or the age defined by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Users

If you use the Proxy Service, requests may be processed by Cloudflare and GolfCourseAPI on servers in various regions depending on routing and provider infrastructure.

Security

We use reasonable measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above when changes are made.
